As a kick-off to the tour, Mulvahill will make his debut on the legendary Grand Ole Opry stage on March 22, 2019.\u00a0 Next, he\u2019ll head out to the West Coast for a few California shows, then the tour will then criss-cross the country, allowing fans in many markets to have the opportunity to enjoy his brand of live music magic in-person. He is also already confirmed for multiple high-profile shows and festivals including Mountain Stage, Rhythm and Blooms, Blue Plums, Winnetka Music Festival, and more to come. (See below for complete list of confirmed dates; more will be added and announced soon.) \u201cThe first leg of the\u00a0<em>Himalayas\u00a0<\/em>tour was so fun and rich \u2013 hearing people sing my songs back to me is a new and humbling experience,\u201d says Mulvahill.\u00a0 \u201cHaving that kind of a first tour is like a big thumbs-up from the universe that, yes, I\u2019m on the right path.\u00a0 I can\u2019t wait for the second part and to play in a lot of new places!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mulvahill kicked off 2019 with part one of his\u00a0<em>Himalayas\u00a0<\/em>headliner tour in January (with six of the shows selling out), and he just wrapped a second leg of dates opening for recent multi-Grammy winner Lauren Daigle on her sold-out \u201cLook Up Child\u201d tour. While on tour, Mulvahill stopped by NPR\u2019s Tiny Desk Concerts \u201cstudio\u201d in January where he recorded a performance that premiered last month (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2019\/02\/14\/694700614\/scott-mulvahill-tiny-desk-concert\" data-type=\"url\" data-name=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2019\/02\/14\/694700614\/scott-mulvahill-tiny-desk-concert\">https:\/\/www.npr.org\/2019\/02\/14\/694700614\/scott-mulvahill-tiny-desk-concert<\/a>). His also latest single from\u00a0<em>Himalayas<\/em>, \u201cGold Plated Lie,\u201d went to radio in February.<\/p>\n<p>2018 was a pivotal year in the growth of Nashville-based Mulvahill\u2019s career.\u00a0 He hit the road, this time as an opener and no longer a sideman, on tour runs with Lauren Daigle, Robert Cray, Matt Wertz, John McLaughlin, Sierra Hull, Andrew Peterson, and Ricky Skaggs. Mulvahill released his first full-length album,\u00a0<em>Himalayas<\/em>, in the fall of 2018, with the backing of a successful Kickstarter campaign that rallied his fans in their belief of him and his music.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most acclaimed bassists in Nashville, Mulvahill originally hails from Houston, Texas.\u00a0 He moved to Nashville post-college, where his life changed after meeting American music icon Ricky Skaggs and joining his Grammy-winning band, Kentucky Thunder.\u00a0 He toured with Skaggs for over five years, and in that time, first started writing songs on his upright bass.\u00a0 With his upright bass providing complete harmony and rhythm arrangements woven in among his vocals, Mulvahill is unique among a sea of too-similar singer-songwriters.\u00a0 A musician equally at home in a plethora of genres \u2013 Americana, rock, pop, country, jazz, gospel, even chamber music \u2013 Mulvahill displays an astonishing range and versatility, all of which is evident on\u00a0<em>Himalayas<\/em>. The album was produced by Mulvahill, Charlie Peacock (The Civil Wars, The Lone Bellow) Gary Paczosa (Alison Krauss, Sarah Jarosz), and Shani Ghandi (Sarah Jarosz).<\/p>\n<p>Mulvahill\u2019s songs have received honors or been featured in the International Songwriting Competition, John Lennon Songwriting Contest, and American Songwriter Magazine\u2019s 30th Anniversary Contest, and he has had numerous cuts on other artists\u2019 albums, most recently with GRAMMY-winning R&amp;B phenom H.E.R. Mulvahill was a showcase performer at 2018 Americana Music Festival, and he has been featured on Lightning 100 radio\u2019s Nashville Sunday Night series.
