Jeremy is now a successful filmmaker who was spending the summer in Atlanta.\u00a0 He asked if I would shoot a special music video with him, using my new song, \u2018Nothin\u2019 But Love,\u2019 as a platform for marriage equality and gay rights.\u00a0 I said yes without blinking an eye.\u00a0 Jeremy is gay, and to think that he is denied the same marriage rights that I am is unbelievable to me. \u00a0He invited 30 people of different races, ages and lifestyles to come and lip-sync my song that day. And the result was overwhelming.\u00a0 I&#8217;d like to thank everyone involved for the love and kindness they brought to the set that day, and for showing me first hand just how humble and meaningful their cause really is. \u00a0I hope this simple video helps tip the scales towards love and marriage equality in this country.\u00a0\u00a0It&#8217;s definitely time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Says the video director O\u2019Keefe about the cause:\u00a0 \u201cHomosexuality is not a subculture. Brendan James\u2019 \u2018Nothin&#8217; But Love\u2019 is a simple, beautiful and universal message that can take us beyond the fear, beyond the hatred and move towards love. An equal love, with equal rights for all. \u00a0 The time is now.\u201d<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>James is hoping to partner with an appropriate charity to be the recipient of donations from the sale of the single.\u00a0 James and O\u2019Keefe encourage those who are interested in learning more and becoming involved in the marriage equality movement to visit Human Rights Campaign (<a title=\"http:\/\/www.hrc.org\" href=\"http:\/\/www.hrc.org\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.hrc.org<\/a>) or Legalize Love (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.legalizelovebug.com\">http:\/\/www.legalizelovebug.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p><em>Hope In Transition<\/em>, which reached<em> #14 <\/em>on the<em> Billboard <\/em>Heatseekers chart,<em> <\/em>is James\u2019 most hopeful and invigorating collection of music in his critically-acclaimed, seven-year career.\u00a0 He blurs the genre lines between shimmering soul, confessional folk, and goose-bump inducing pop-rock, and keenly balances a timeless sense of organic instrumentation with a playfully experimental penchant for slinky R&amp;B-flavored beats and tasteful electro ambience. <em>Hope In Transition<\/em> was produced by Max Coane (with additional track production by Julian Coryell).<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Prior to <em>Hope In Transition<\/em>, he released an independent EP as well as two albums on the Decca label, one of which featured the song, \u201cThe Lucky Ones,\u201d which the U.S. women\u2019s soccer team played in their locker room to psych themselves up prior to every game they played in the Summer 2012 Olympics, including their gold medal-winning game on August 9th.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>The Derry, New Hampshire-native started his professional career in New York City.
