Loretto,TN-based husband-and-wife duo Grace & Tony\u2019s latest \u201cGreenroom Session\u201d video clip, which went live on TheBoot.com yesterday, features Tony\u2019s brother, John Paul White (formerly of The Civil Wars) joining them on a cover of the Grace & Tony song, \u201cNovember.\u201d\u00a0 Fans can view the clip here:\u00a0\u00a0http:\/\/theboot.com\/grace-tony-greenroom-sessions-november\/<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Says Tony of performing a session with his brother:\u00a0 \u201cWe were very excited to do a \u2018Greenroom Session\u2019 with John. We haven’t had nearly the amount of time to perform together as either of us would like. It was only right that we would do the song \u2018November,\u2019 as that is John’s favorite song from the\u00a0November<\/em>\u00a0album. And 116 E. Mobile is our favorite venue in the Muscle Shoals area, so it was an easy choice as to where we would shoot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Grace & Tony, known for playing a blend of musical styles dubbed \u201cpunkgrass\u201d (a mix of genres including punk, folk, bluegrass, and Texas swing), launched the collaborative\u00a0 \u201cGreenroom Sessions\u201d series on April 1, 2014, which features backstage\/on the road video performances with fellow musicians of Grace & Tony songs and covers shot on an iPhone.\u00a0 Partner site TheBoot.com world premieres new clips on the 1st and 15th of every month.\u00a0 Past sessions have included performances with Malcolm Parson (Carolina Chocolate Drops), Christian Lopez, Odane Whilby, and Misty Mountain String Band.<\/p>\n

Grace & Tony released their full-length debut album,\u00a0November<\/em>, on November 11, 2013, via Rock Ridge Music.\u00a0 (With distribution through ADA, the label has offices in Newark, NJ, and Nashville, TN).\u00a0 They\u2019ve headlined the historic Crockett Theater (Lawrenceburg, TN), appeared at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and performed twice on the \u201cDaytrotter Sessions,\u201d as well as performed for Balcony TV, \u201cJimmy Lloyd\u2019s Songwriter Showcase,\u201d and Knoxville\u2019s \u201cBlue Plate Special\u201d programs.\u00a0 In addition, three of their videos (\u201cLet You Down,\u201d \u201cNovember,\u201d and \u201cThe Chameleon\u201d) have been in regular rotation on ZUUS Country.\u00a0 They\u2019ve also scored airplay on CMT Edge and GAC.<\/p>\n

No Depression\u00a0<\/em>praised the album, saying:\u00a0 \u201cTelling universal stories about love and loss through the perspective of larger-than-life characters gives\u00a0November<\/em>\u00a0a literary feel. Place that in the setting of a musical genre that opens up traditional forms of musical communication to the adventurous nature of punk and even a little swing, and Grace & Tony has produced an album in\u00a0November<\/em>\u00a0that is not only a lot of fun, but provides the music lover with musical substance that demands repeat listening.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recently, they\u2019ve shared the stage with folks like the Lone Bellow, Billy Joe Shaver, Dom Flemons, and Carolina Chocolate Drops, as well as hitting the high seas on the Cayamo music cruise, playing alongside the likes of Kris Kristofferson, Ricky Scaggs, Bruce Hornsby, and Lyle Lovett.\u00a0 They will also be performing at the Winnipeg Folk Festival in July 2014.\u00a0 A list of confirmed tour dates is below.<\/p>\n
