Grace & Tony debut video for “The Chameleon” on ZUUS Country

GRACE & TONY DEBUT VIDEO FOR “THE CHAMELEON” ON ZUUS COUNTRY

Loretto,TN-based duo Grace & Tony, the husband-and wife pair who create a progressive blend of musical styles in a genre known as punkgrass, are world premiering their new video for “The Chameleon” on May 5, 2014, on ZUUS Country (www.zuus.com).  The video will be broadcast as part of an episode of “On The Rise” (which will air at 7 p.m. in all time zones), with the episode featuring the duo guest VJ’ing as well.  Fans can go to http://www.zuus.com/where-to-watch to find local listings or they can also watch the live stream broadcast of the episode at 7 p.m. EST here:http://www.zuus.com/music-videos/zuus_country_tv.  “The Chameleon” will then air at the top of every hour during video blocks for an entire day after “On The Rise” airs.

The video tells the story of a down-and-out guy who discovers and falls in love with Grace—who looks shockingly like his late wife—after seeing her in a tour poster.  The clip incorporates some alternately disturbing and funny twists and turns, including a foot chase, live performance clips, and an identity shift that is a nod to the song’s title. Co-directed by Lloyd Aur Norman and Tony White, with the story created by Tony as well, the video was shot in various locations in Lawrence and Wayne counties in Tennessee.

Says Tony of the clip:  “I had the idea for this video while riding down the road on tour. Neither of us wanted to be the star of this video, and from that came the concept of making someone else The Chameleon.  I thought that approaching this story from a completely different angle would be fun. Our guy (Kyle Kelly) actually does become another person in a way.  There were a ton of laughs on the set, and I couldn’t imagine a video shoot being more fun than this one.”

“We have been big fans of Grace & Tony for some time now and when we heard they were doing a video for ‘The Chameleon’ we jumped at the chance to be the first to air it,” says ZUUS Country Program Director Kent Bailey.  “A big part of our network is built on introducing viewers to fresh, new, exciting artists, and I can’t wait to show them this great video!”

Grace & Tony White released their full-length debut album, November, on November 11, 2013, via Rock Ridge Music, which follows the 2011 EP, Inside a 7-Track Mind.  Exposed to music early on in their lives by family (Grace’s liked the Southern styles from gospel all the way to rock, while Tony learned from his brother, John Paul White of The Civil Wars fame), Grace & Tony experimented with an unlikely blend of genres by mixing punk, folk, bluegrass, and Texas swing.

Since then, doors have opened, and they have succeeded in their goal to be heard by bigger audiences by headlining the historic Crockett Theater (Lawrenceburg, TN), appearing at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, and performing twice on the legendary “Daytrotter Sessions,” as well as performing for Balcony TV, “Jimmy Lloyd’s Songwriter Showcase,” and Knoxville’s “Blue Plate Special” programs.  In addition, two of their videos (“Let You Down,” “November”) are being played in regular rotation on ZUUS Country.  They’ve also scored airplay on CMT Edge and GAC.

No Depression praised the album, saying:  “Telling universal stories about love and loss through the perspective of larger-than-life characters gives November a literary feel. Place that in the setting of a musical genre that opens up traditional forms of musical communication to the adventurous nature of punk and even a little swing, and Grace & Tony has produced an album in November that is not only a lot of fun, but provides the music lover with musical substance that demands repeat listening.”

More opportunities for Grace & Tony wait on the horizon; their dance card is filling up quickly as shows are added to their schedule on a regular basis (recently, they’ve shared the stage with folks like the Lone Bellow, Billy Joe Shaver, Dom Flemons, and Carolina Chocolate Drops, as well as hitting the high seas on the Cayamo music cruise, playing alongside the likes of Kris Kristofferson, Ricky Scaggs, Bruce Hornsby, and Lyle Lovett).  They will also be performing at the Winnipeg Folk Festival in July 2014.

In April 2014, they launched a video series called “Greenroom Sessions with Grace & Tony,” which features backstage/on the road video performances with fellow musicians of Grace & Tony songs and covers shot on an iPhone.  Partner site TheBoot.com is world premiering new clips on the 1st and 15th of every month.  Past sessions have included performances with Malcolm Parson (Carolina Chocolate Drops), Christian Lopez, and Misty Mountain String Band.

About:

Harnessing their crazy sense of humor and love of all things metal, vocalist Rob “Rawrb” Kersey and guitarist Josh “The J” Key joined forces with drummer Alex “Shmalex” Dontre and bassist  Matty J “Moose” to create Pyschostick, a band they’ve coined as humorcore. With hilarious lyrics, heavy riffs, notorious stage antics and high-energy performances, the band has caused millions of laughs around the world and hundreds of mosh pits across the US, often simultaneously, since its birth in Phoenix, AZ in 2000.

Almost 100 percent do-it-yourself, Psychostick never strays from its signature sound, a combination of heavy music that Chimaira, Machine Head, and Hatebreed would be proud of, and wit and humor that would make Tenacious D and Weird Al Yankovic holler with laughter.

With three full-length albums behind them – “We Couldn’t Think of a Title,” “Sandwich,” and their holiday album, “The Flesh Eating Rollerskate Holiday Joyride” – the band released their latest record, “Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs in 3D,” in 2011, following it up with a tour with Mushroomhead to add to their total count of 21 nationwide tours that have hit 47 states.

After a successful 2013 that saw these touring ninja warriors hit the road for multiple shows on the “Our Tour Can Beat Up Your Tour,” “Blow Your Fingers Off” summer tour, their late summer dates with American Head Charge plus appearances at summer fests that included Rockapalooza, A2 Fest, Breast Fest Biker Bash, and Dirtfest.  The band finally took a break in the last months of the year and held a successful crowd funding campaign (thank you video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSeQHqMCfJI), and they are now currently in studio recording their follow up to 2011’s “Space Vampires vs. Zombie Dinosaurs In 3D.”

Mark Jones & Twenty Paces to release album May 27th

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 4, 2014

MARK JONES & TWENTY PACES TO RELEASE ALBUM MAY 27th

In the ever-evolving music scene, it’s more important than ever to stand out from the crowd. Having a 6’7″ lead singer goes a long way in helping Mark Jones stand out from crowd, or at least above it. With a foundation of simplicity and truth, Mark Jones and his band are making a stir with their unmistakable sound. Like the troubadours who’ve inspired him, Mark’s songs take you on a personal journey that begins with being true to one’s self. Breaking Even, the debut album from Houston’s Mark Jones & Twenty Paces (due out May 27, 2014), delivers 12 candid and uncompromising alt-country tracks.

The son of a church music director, Jones started piano lessons at the age of six and sang in church and school choirs. Though this musical training held some influence, songwriting came to him by chance. Mark was pursuing and Agricultural Economics degree from Texas Tech University when the need to fulfill a fine art credit landed him in a songwriting class.

As a fifth-generation Texan, Mark’s deep ties to family form his unassuming attitude and honest perspective. Onstage, he prefers to skip the banter and allow the music to tell his story.  “We strive to create music that makes sense,” Jones says.  He draws from a diverse array of influences, but his greatest inspiration comes from outside the musical realm. A self-proclaimed mountain man a heart, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and the great outdoors.

His music has resonated with audiences all around Houston. “These guys will be making major waves in Texas music,” says Steve Said, owner of Dosey Doe. “Their sound is fresh and unique and sounds like nothing else, but it is still distinctly Texas. One of our favorite up-and-coming acts.”

2014 is going to be a great year for Mark Jones & Twenty Paces. With a full schedule ahead of them, they look forward to connecting with audiences and perfecting their blend of county and rock and roll. As Jones says, “We play two kinds of songs:  the ones we write, and the ones we like. We hope one of them becomes your favorite.”

Album release date:  May 27, 2014

The Revere to release “Behold, The Sea Itself!” on April 29th

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 3, 2014

THE REVERE TO RELEASE BEHOLD, THE SEA ITSELF! ON APRIL 29th

Philadelphia-based power trio The Revere will be releasing their latest music endeavor, Behold, The Sea Itself! on April 29, 2014, through Rock Ridge Music (with distribution via ADA).  Behold, The Sea Itself! was recorded at Forge Recording Studios in Oreland, PA, and was mixed by Ron DiSilvestro.  It is the first release from the band that was solely produced by them.

Says guitarist/vocalist Sean Kelly, “This album is by far the most refined and the most organic version of The Revere. We have been excited about this album since we began writing the first track almost three years ago. We can’t wait to share it with everyone!” Rounding out the trio are Kelly’s brother Pat (drums) and Michael Pearson (bass); all three studied at Temple University in Philadelphia.

The album presents the final part of the story that began with The Great City, a concept album about loyalty, love, finding one’s self, and coming of age. The travelers in the tale face the perils of the sea as they draw closer to their final destination.  Between The Great City and Behold, the band released a four-song EP (originally only available on Amazon) called Ashia which visited the backstory of an important character introduced in The Great CityAshia tells story of the character Lesedi, his revenge against his wife’s killers, and the emptiness he finds in spite of it all.  It is this emptiness that is the impetus for the sweeping saga embraced in The Great City and Behold, The Sea Itself!.

The CD edition of Behold, The Sea Itself! includes a bonus disc incorporating The Great City and Ashia, marking the first time the releases will be available in a physical format.

American Songwriter premieres Riley Etheridge Jr’s new single and video

For Immediate Release

April 2, 2014

American Songwriter Premieres Riley Etheridge, Jrs New Single and Video for Another Time, Another Place”

New Album The Straight and Narrow Way Out Now – via Rock Ridge Music

Touring with LEON RUSSELL April May

Southern bred and now NY-based Riley Etheridge, Jr. is thrilled to partner with revered music journal AMERICAN SONGWRITER to premiere the video for his new single “Another Time, Another Place,” which features a haunting vocal duet with Sara Watkins of Nickel Creek. The track perfectly blends the heartache of a love affair that for a myriad of reasons cannot be fulfilled, and the longing of what could have been if only the timing were right. A universal theme no doubt, but in Riley’s talented hands sounds both heartbreakingly honest – yet hopeful – that someday.…

Guest musician, and roots rock icon, drummer Jim Keltner  summed up the album perfectly when he described it as sounding like, “Steely Dan lost on a bender over a long weekend in New Orleans.”

In addition to the honor of being selected to join hero and rock ’n’ roll legend LEON RUSSELL on tour this April, Riley had his album, The Straight and Narrow Way, tapped by the caffeinated tastemakers at Starbucks Coffee House to be added into heavy in-store rotation. The single has also been chosen for the current installment of Crate & Barrel “Get The Download” offer. His song “Another Time, Another Place,” is available via free download from Crate & Barrel; the offer will be presented on in-store cards later this spring (while supplies last) as well as online at the Crate & Barrel website and in Crate & Barrel catalogs.  The promotion runs through June of this year.

The Straight And Narrow Way was born from freewheeling recording sessions in Los Angeles, Nashville, and New Orleans. Its loose and vibey feel is a testament to the folks Etheridge had the good taste to invite to the party.  The album features impressive collaborators, special guests such as: the aforementioned Watkins, Joe Sample vocalist Erica Falls, former Allman Brother Johnny Neel, Dan Dugmore (Linda Ronstadt, James Taylor), and legendary drummer Jim Keltner  (Traveling Wilburys, Bob Dylan, Elvis, John Lennon).

Grace & Tony introduce the “Greenroom Sessions” – each clip from the series to premiere on TheBoot.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

April 1, 2014

GRACE & TONY INTRODUCE THE “GREENROOM SESSIONS”

Each clip from the series to premiere on TheBoot.com

Loretto,TN-based duo Grace & Tony, the husband-and wife pair responsible for the progressive blend of musical styles dubbed “punkgrass,” have announced the launch of their collaborative video series, “Grace & Tony Greenroom Sessions.” The series kicks off today with a clip featuring the duo’s performance with Malcolm Parson of Carolina Chocolate Drops of the brand new Grace & Tony song, “The 1.”  (Watch the clip here: http://theboot.com/grace-tony-greenroom-sessions-the-1/)  The video, along with all future session clips, will premiere exclusively on TheBoot.com.  New sessions will be posted twice each month.

Says Tony:  “The ‘Greenroom Sessions’ are going to be something that is very real. Real musicians, real collaboration, real music.  We wanted to strip these videos down completely (iPhone only) and present an honest performance with some of our favorite people.”

Says Angela Stefano, Editor of TheBoot.com:  “The Boot is the premier online destination for classic country, Americana and alt-country, featuring news, exclusive interviews and music from some of the top acts in those genres.  We’re excited to be able to partner with Grace & Tony to bring this video series to our readers around the globe.”

Video clips for “Greenroom Sessions” will be shot on the road and backstage at some of the duos favorite venues.  Each session will feature Grace & Tony playing a song acoustically with performer friends.  Already confirmed for the series are labelmate Christian Lopez (a cover of “Million Dollar Bill” by Dawes), and Odane Whilby (a cover of “Deep Water” by Bob Wills).  There are also planned sessions on the books with Jim Avett, Black Feathers, Penny and Sparrow, Humming House, and Misty Mountain String Band, plus many more surprise guests to come.  The idea was born from an impromptu backstage dressing room jam with Malcolm Parson of the Carolina Chocolate Drops on the Grace & Tony song, “Let You Down” (http://youtu.be/aJ3CfzIVy58).  Parson’s cello added a haunting layer to the song, and feedback from fans led Grace & Tony to turn the collaborative idea into a series.

Grace & Tony released their full-length debut album,  November, on November 11, 2013, via Rock Ridge Music. (With distribution through ADA, the label has offices in Newark, NJ, and Nashville, TN).  Working with Lloyd Aur Norman and Stephen D. Jones of Villain Place in Nashville, the pair was accompanied by a full band to fill out their unique sound. The release follows the 2011 EP Inside a 7-Track Mind, which introduced “punkgrass” to listeners.  Exposed to music early on in their lives by family (Grace’s liked the Southern styles from gospel all the way to rock, while Tony learned from his brother, John Paul White of The Civil Wars fame), Grace & Tony experimented with an unlikely blend of genres by mixing punk, folk, bluegrass, and Texas swing, to create something new.

In addition, two of their videos (“Let You Down,” “November”) are being played in regular rotation on The Country Network.

Levi Weaver signs with Rock Ridge Music, new album coming in May

LEVI WEAVER SIGNS WITH ROCK RIDGE MUSIC

New album coming in May

Tour currently underway and set to continue through 2014

Singer, songwriter, and traveling troubadour Levi Weaver has signed with Rock Ridge Music, and the label will be releasing his forthcoming album, Your Ghost Keeps Finding Me, on May 13, 2014 (with distribution via ADA). In addition to CD and digital formats, the album will also be released on vinyl.  Weaver’s second record with producer and audio engineer Aaron Dethrage, Your Ghost Keeps Finding Me is a tale about young love, marriage, marital separation, introspection, mature love, marital reconciliation, and death.

Weaver has released two full-length albums, two EP’s, and two live albums. One of his most profound artistic assets is how Weaver’s live show compliments his recorded music.  His studio work is often stately and beautifully layered, but live he re-imagines these creations as a one-man band, intriguing audiences with his loop pedals, his dual mics, and a violin bow which he occasionally applies to his guitar strings.  Onetime tourmate Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Imogen Heap raved about his live show.  Performing Songwriter Magazine called Weaver a “musical wunderkind with grand ambitions.” After one performance Citybeat Cincinnati concluded:  “Weaver was a one-man work of art.”

A tireless touring performer, Weaver has often covered upwards of 50,000 miles in travel in years past. Formerly Nashville-based after a childhood spent growing upon the rodeo circuit in Texas, Weaver sold most of his belongings last month, bought an RV, and is currently touring the country for the rest of 2014 with his wife, two young children, and dog in tow.  (See full tour schedule below.)

Written by GRAMMY Award-winning songwriters Josh Kear, Ed Hill and David Frasier, “Lookatchu” highlights Bachman’s fun and playful personality. Dwight & Nicole to release “Shine On” in April

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

February 12, 2014

DWIGHT & NICOLE TO RELEASE SHINE ON IN APRIL

Dwight & Nicole, an American roots band formed by recording artists Dwight Ritcher and Nicole Nelson, will be self-releasing their new album, Shine On, on April 22, 2014. Shine On puts some impressive talent on display:  gorgeous vocals, developed songwriting skills, and masterful playing were all captured live at Boston’s Rear Window Studio. The delivery is often exciting, always multi-dimensional, and never run-of-the-mill. Dwight & Nicole express deep emotion effortlessly on every track of Shine On.  This will be their first major release, heavily funded by their devoted fans via music-oriented crowd-sourcing site PledgeMusic.

Their performances have inspired comparisons to some of the greats — Etta James and John Lee Hooker, the Rolling Stones and the Staple Singers — but it is their own fresh blend of spirited blues, rock, and gospel that will land them a spot among the celebrated music makers. Following their critically acclaimed independent release !Signs, the Boston Globe called them, “a tour de force,” and named them among the “25 Most Stylish of the Year.”  They have garnered four Boston Phoenix award nominations, six Boston Music Award nominations and Nelson just nabbed a BMA for “Female Vocalist of The Year.”

In September of 2012, Nicole appeared on NBC’s #1 hit show “The Voice,” knocking out all four coaches and winning the hearts of millions with her rendition of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah.” The song was a hit of its own, rising to #26 on the iTunes Pop chart, and propelling a wave of nationwide appreciation for Nelson’s home grown style. The bright lights of network TV also shed much deserved light on her band—New England’s best kept secret Dwight & Nicole—helping the group to shatter through the glass ceiling that most self-promoting indie artists are up against today.

Their music has already been featured on TV shows such as “Nikita” on CW, “The Forgotten” on ABC, “Missing” on Lifetime, and “The Cleaner” on A&E.  Dwight & Nicole starred in the documentary film “Where’s The Music At?” They have performed live at countless world class venues and festivals around the world including Montreal Jazz Festival, Tanglewood, Life Is Good Festival, Symphony Hall, The Somerville Theatre, The Tennessee Theater, The Paradise, The Higher Ground, and The Blue Note in NYC.

Dwight & Nicole have shared the stage with many other great artists including BB King, Buddy Guy, Dave Brubeck, Dr. Maya Angelou, Ray Lamontagne, Los Lobos, Alison Krauss, Martin Sexton, Levon Helm, Norah Jones, Dr. John, Natalie Cole, Winton Marsalis, The Avett Brothers, Raphael Saadiq, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Carly Simon, The Funk Brothers, Maceo Parker, Chuck Berry, Jimmy Buffet, Biz Markie, Little Richard, Angelique Kidjo, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Irma Thomas, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
