“Callaghan: All Four Corners” U.S. house concert tour kicks off in May

Going for adds at Triple A in April,

song “Best Year 2015” in rotation on BBC Radio 2 in U.K.

Nashville based singer/songwriter Callaghan has just released the video for “Crazy Beautiful Life, the first single from her second album, A History of Now.  The video can be viewed here:  “Crazy Beautiful Life.”  “Crazy Beautiful Life” goes for adds at Triple A radio in the U.S. on April 6th.   Her first U.K. single from the album, “Best Year 2015,” is currently in rotation on BBC Radio 2 there.  Billboard has thrown its support behind the release with an online feature about the new album and Callaghan’s upcoming epic house concert tour.

Callaghan is currently on tour promoting A History of Now, which will be released on April 7, 2015, via her own label, Green Town Music.  Featuring Callaghan’s trademark acoustic pop sound, which blurs the edges between pop, adult contemporary and Americana, the new record is the latest chapter of a success story based on hard work and a strong connection with a growing army of fans for the artist who moved to the U.S. from London in the summer of 2010.  No Depression has dubbed her “nothing short of stunning,” while BBC Radio 2 presenter Bob Harris called Callaghan “a wonderful artist… hugely talented.”

In addition to planned shows at regular venues, Callaghan will be hitting the road in May and June for her third annual house concert tour.  This year’s tour is billed as “Callaghan Across America: All Four Corners,” and will travel from Tampa to New York, across to Seattle, down to San Diego and back to Nashville.  (See tour schedule below for all confirmed dates.)  Her very first house show tour — which stretched from coast-to-coast in 2013 — earned Callaghan a four-page spread in Billboard Magazine. The magazine credited her with “helping reshape the business of touring, if not music consumption entirely,” and praised her for her strong vocals and do-it-yourself work ethic.

A History of Now was recorded in Nashville with producer Dennis Matkosky (a songwriting legend whose credits include Keith Urban’s “You’ll Think of Me” and the Flashdance soundtrack’s “Maniac,” as well as several co-writes on the Callaghan album) and features contributions from some of Nashville’s best session players as well as loops from Owl City member Casey Brown, adding a modern edge to the album’s analog vibe. Callaghan recently inked a publishing deal with Matkosky’s Kompass Publishing, which is affiliated with Kobalt Music.

Says AXS.com of Callaghan and her forthcoming album:  “Callaghan is a magical artist who can sparkle like a brightly colored gem that turns your day golden, or she can reach the deep, guarded core of your soul and bring you to cleansing tears of quiet reflection.  …Callaghan has such a firm understanding of the ways of the heart that she can take a private, diary moment and render it with such a broad, compassionate stroke that it truly becomes universal in scope. Even her most personal musings speak directly to her listeners with such clarity and precision that the songs can take on unique and very personal meanings to each and every person who hears them.”

Since moving to the U.S. to record her debut album, Life in Full Colour, with Atlanta singer-songwriter Shawn Mullins (who says Callaghan has “a voice the whole world needs to hear”), Callaghan has enjoyed four years of touring, recording and growing appreciation in the U.S. She’s transformed from a burgeoning indie songwriter to a full-fledged headliner who’s toured across 46 states, played the Cayamo Cruise, shared the stage with artists such as Mullins, Jake Shimabukuro, Ed Kowalczyk and more, headlined at packed venues around the country, and logged more than 50,000 highway miles per year.  Now that she has enjoyed success in the U.S., Callaghan is also focusing her promotion and touring efforts across the pond in 2015. She was recently featured in the BBC TV documentary “Bob Harris: My Nashville” and will tour the UK later this month.
